TITANIUM SPECTACLES FROM LINDBERG OPTIC DESIGN 

Throughout the I990's, the patented AIR Titanium concept, designed by the Danish firm of architects Dissing & Weitling in collaboration with optometrist Poul-jorn Lindberg, has gone from strength to strength all over the world. The AIR Titanium spectacles epitomise the best of Danish design with its traditional respect for elegant simplicity, natural materials and high-quality craftsmanship. They have been honoured with seven of the most distinguished international design awards, the specially designed AIR Titanium case won the iF design prize at the world's largest fair in Hanover. Quality and flexibility are the key concepts in production.

With frames weighing less than 3 grams, AIR Titanium spectacles are the world's lightest, made from a nickel-free titanium wire with a diameter of only 1mm. The optimum characteristics of the titanium material provides the spectacles with an exceptional flexibility and strength and offers endless scope for adaptation of the spectacles to the faces of individual users. The design is minimalistic - no screws, rivets or soldering. Simply a wire bent and shaped into a pair of spectacles, which can either appear almost invisible or more distinct depending on the model chosen.

The titanium material allows for electrolytic colouring of the frames in all colours of the rainbow. The spectacles are also available in specially-coated colours such as gold, silver, copper and anthracite. Nose pads and temple covers are made from medical silicone, a material very compatible with the human skin, ensuring that the glasses have a firm hold and stay in place.

The development in recent years of ever lighter and thinner lenses goes hand in hand with the light AIR Titanium frames well-suited for all prescriptions both single vision and multifocal lenses.

The AIR Titanium spectacles concept is a complete building system with more than one million different model variations, allowing us to offer a unique pair of spectacles which perfectly matches the requirements of the individual in terms of style, colour and size. The foundation of the system are the two product lines, the rimless AIR Titanium range and the rimmed AIR Titanium RIM. The 3-gram frame is dispatched by courier to be in Australia within 7 to 10 days.

STRIP WITH STYLE

The name STRIP Titanium refers to the thin titanium plate - the strip - which adds an entirely new dimension to the minimalist AIR Titanium design. STRIP Titanium is a lightweight frame with distinctive features that emphasise the wearer's personal style.

The world-patented STRIP Titanium frame is cut from thin titanium plate using state-of-the-art laser technology, and is subsequently shaped and adjusted to suit the individual wearer. STRIP Titanium is designed without the use of screws, rivets or welding. The hinge is a naturally integrated element in the simple and elegant STRIP design.

With STRIP Titanium Lindberg Optic Design now covers the whole spectrum from the invisible, individualistic AIR frames, via the semi-visible, ultra flexible RIM frames to the markedly visible and solid STRIP frame. What they all have in common is their simplicity of design and lightness together with the fact that they are extremely comfortable to wear and hypoallergenic, while offering endless scope for colour combinations and individual solutions.
